Boringdon Hall wedding - Hannah and William -Plymouth wedding photographer

Hannah and Will's Super Fun Wedding at Boringdon Hall

I've been dying to share Hanna and Wills Super fun wedding at Boringdon Hall with you all! This was such an epic day. Featuring their adorable dog Lottie as the ring bearer, wild belly laughs, embarrassing photos revealed by the best man, games of hide and seek, a bride throwing shapes on the dance floor dressed as a giraffe (yep, a giraffe), cake smooshing and dancing (like Beyonce) in the rain. I did not want to leave this wedding!!!!

This couple and their friends are absolutely insane! but in the best (life's too short) kind of way. I had an absolute blast at their wedding and again when they returned from their honeymoon.

Hannah and Will invited me over for a bbq, a catch up with them and their friends. So that I could eat yummy food, have lots of laughs and present their wedding photographs in person. Even though I stuck to my usual fruit juice and green tea, I could not have had more fun! Everyone's reaction to the photos blew me away, celebrating each individual moment as it appeared. It was a truly humbling reminder of why I love my job and the happiness it can bring people. I walked out of their home late, feeling as though I'll really miss this lovely bunch of mates. So I've asked for an invite to their next bbq (fingers crossed)

Thank you Hannah and Will (and to your mates and family) for being bloody lovely. Treating me as a friend and for giving me the privilege of capturing such an amazing day in your lives! I'll never forget your crazy, beautiful, perfect wedding xxx

Keep scrolling after the photos for Hannah's words about how herself and Will met (In the bread aisle, he he), the proposal, the wedding day including advice for engaged couples and some amazing and heartwarming feedback for me (which totally made my week!)

Jamie's favourite Moments...

I would love to hear the story of how you met and fell in love?

Will and I met whilst working at Tesco. It was my first job and Will had transferred his position when he moved to Plymouth for University. A very awkward conversation down the bread aisle lead to Will asking for my number!

Tell me all about the proposal?

Will and I went to Mauritius with my parents to celebrate their 50th birthdays. Between the connecting flights at Dubai airport Will asked my Dad if he could propose, to which my Dad responded 'what's brought this on then?!'. On our third night in Mauritius Will and I went for a walk on the beach after dinner. We sat down to look at the amazing starry night when we saw a shooting star. Will asked me to make a wish and I said I would if he did too. He asked me what my wish was and I refused to tell him as it was bad luck. After a lot of persuading, I did tell him, and asked him what his wish was. Will then got on one knee and produced a ring, saying 'I wish that you will marry me, will you marry me?' This was absolutely the biggest shock of my life!! As it was very dark I insisted he get his phone to show me it was actually a ring and not a shell (it's in Wills character to make jokes as I'm sure you've learnt!) Sure enough it was a beautiful engagement ring.

What wedding venue did you choose and why?

We chose Boringdon for many reasons. It's close to our home and the church where the ceremony would be taking place. We loved the architecture and style/period of the building and interior.

What was the vibe of your wedding?

Fun, enjoyable, non-formal, lots of dancing and laughing. Colours based on a summer theme and my flowers - particularly the peony which was important to us.

What are your favourite memories/moments that you think of when you remember your day?

Will being very nervous at the church and me having to calm him down. He needed gentle calming words to settle him down!! Lottie being the ring bearer and predictably not coming straight down the aisle. The vicar coming out of the church with a wand for my flower girl. Private moments at the castle before the reception - in particular loosing my veil and Will catching it. Arriving in the car that Boringdon and chatting with guests. The quiz during speeches. Wrong version of the first dance song being put on but 'smoothly' recovering with our favourite upbeat song immediately after. Hey Jude performed by the band at the end, all guests singing 'Han-na-na-nah'!

What advice would you like to give to couples about planning the day and any advice about the day itself?

Relax, don't sweat the small stuff, don't worry about timings. Have faith in the people you have around you to smooth over anything that might not go to plan. Enjoy!

What special details did you include in your wedding?

Photographs on the tables of each guest with either bride or groom as name places. Different coloured bridesmaid dresses. Personalised order of service. Handmade cake and centrepieces/decorations. Favours from lots of friends and family.

What resources did you use to find the perfect vendors and suppliers?

We attended some wedding shows but didn't use anything we found. Instead we went completely on recommendations and help from our friends and family.

I love food and music! Let's talk about food and music?

I walked down the aisle to Prelude from 'Te Deum; by Charpentier. First dance song was meant to be Elton John 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' (my sister put on a foreign version, oops) so the second first dance song saved the day - this was 'To Be With You' by Mr Big. Our friends particularly enjoyed this as we are notorious for ALWAYS dancing together whenever we hear this song.

We had a band which were fantastic - Jessica and The Rabbits. Again, a recommendation from a friend. They played funk and soul songs, and our favourite was Hey Jude.

Why on earth did you choose Webb Family Photography as your wedding photographer?

We chose Jamie on a recommendation from Will's colleague. When we met with Jamie we knew straight away he was the right choice.

Is there anything else that you would like to add?

THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!! We are absolutely thrilled with our photos, thank you. It was so lovely to share our wedding day with Jamie. One of our favourite times was having time out at the end of the night to play around outside in the rain whilst Jamie took photos. The photos turned out incredible and one will be a room feature shortly :)

How did you find me and why did you decide to hire me as your wedding photographer?

Jamie you were and are just fantastic. There aren't enough words to describe how pleased and happy we were to have you as our photographer. We chose you through recommendation and after meeting with you at the venue to discuss your wedding packages etc. You're extremely friendly, down to earth and fun to be around, the kind of person we like to have around. Your work also showed how talented and skilled you are as a photographer. The final thing that demonstrated to us that you were the photographer for us was your personal touch to everything you do.

how would you describe your experience of working with me?

Once again, not enough words! Excellent, fun, relaxed, comfortable, easy, personable.

What were your hesitations when it came to photography? What did you feel unsure about, what were you anxious of and what questions did you need answered?

Initial hesitations surrounded the volume of different packages and photographers that are available and trying to understand exactly what it was we wanted. As with many things wedding related, we felt bombarded with options and things to consider. That's why it helped to have had a recommendation. Price was also a big consideration for us - making sure we got value for money. We absolutely feel that we did. We needed to understand what exactly happened with a wedding photographer on the day.

What was awesome?

EVERYTHING! Highlights included getting to know Jamie, the engagement shoot, one to one moments with Will and I captured by Jamie, Jamie being absolutely fantastic and reassuring throughout the day, having fun in the evening in the rain trying new things, and getting to go through the pictures and video with Jamie.

Was there anything that was not so awesome or could be improved?

Ha - Jamie, you know what's coming here. The only thing that could have been improved was if you would have eaten lunch!!!!

Would you recommend me to others and what would you say to someone who is thinking of working with me?

100% recommendation, we can't recommend you highly enough.

To someone who was thinking about working with you, I would say in my opinion I don't believe there is a better wedding photographer available. I've been part of the bridal party for a few weddings now and have never come across a photographer with the professional approach, skill and talent that Jamie has combined with his relaxed, down to earth and hard-working personality. Wedding photographers should be able to capture the natural moments and this is at the core of everything Jamie does. My family and friends were and still are just so impressed with Jamie and his work. To have someone so lovely as part of our special day was an honour. Jamie genuinely saved parts of the day and made some of them even better. We genuinely can't thank you enough.
