Fun was the theme of laura and Gav's wedding, and fun it was! There was a classic game on each table, Ice cream mustaches and lots of play!

It was my first visit to Trevenna and I would absolutely love to return! The staff were friendly and worked with me to ensure that everything ran smoothly.

On a side note. It was my third time working on the same wedding as Martin from CDEC Wedding Cars. I just wanted to give him a little shoutout as he has always been friendly, on time and his classic cars are just beautiful! If you are looking for a classic car or two for your wedding day, you should check out CDEC Wedding Cars.

Below are some of my favourite photos from Laura and Gav's wedding, followed by Laura's reflection of the day, her advice and ideas for others and some extremely nice feedback for me...

Laura, your wedding day was amazing! So full of love and fun! Shall we talk about that a little?...

How did you meet and fall in love?

We met as we worked together at Saltash Working men's club. We stayed friends after he left and 5 years ago after a few beverages we had our first kiss. The rest is history!

What wedding venue did you choose and why?

We got married at our local church St Stephen's in Saltash. It was important to us to get married traditionally.

For our wedding reception we went to Trevenna Barns in St Neot. They guided us through our options through the day and were both professional and friendly. We like the venue as it had a menu sourced from Cornwall and the accommodation was converted barns creating a wedding village feel.

The Inspiration behind your wedding?

We wanted our wedding to be fun as they can be quite dull! Our centrepieces were various games and they really helped people to socialise as they went table to table to swap games or challenge other guests.

Favourite memories and moments of the day?

There were so many moments that are special to me. Gav saying his vows, post marriage selfie in the back of the wedding car (sad I know), talking to our guests - some of which we hadn't seen in some time, our first dance.... Not to mention the tears and laughter the speeches brought.

What advice would you like to give to couples about planning the day and any advice about the day itself?

We didn't find it that stressful. If others want to help, let them. Don't think you have to do everything yourself. It's your day, but it's also massive for your parents and closest friends. Make it your own, add your own twist even if it's just the centrepieces or the table names.

We were frequently told you will hardly see each other and will be the most sober people there as you're so busy talking to distant relatives etc. Make time for each other. We did. It's the one day that's about the two of you. Celebrate it. (We must certainly weren't sober either!)

What special details did you include in your wedding?

We are both pretty traditional, though we haven't accepted that we are in fact 'grown ups'. We expressed that with our church wedding, toys and games at the reception, bubbles with the favours and some proper cheesy old school floor fillers on our playlist.

I love food and music! Let's talk about food and music?

The starter was a sharing platter of goats cheese mousse, various meats, hummus, dipping oils and homemade bread. We thought it would help to get the tables talking. The main was the option of roast beef or belly pork with mustard mash, the vegetarians had aubergine and Brie bake and the vegans a mushroom Wellington. Dessert was lemon sorbet with raspberry and meringue pieces or chocolate fondant. Down the aisle was Pachelbel's Canon in d, back down to Mendelssohn's Wedding March. Our first dance was to Lionel Richie's Destiny. We also requested Ed Sheeran, Thinking out loud.

So then Laura, when I capture a wedding, I always like to know how I did! Would you mind answering a few questions for me? (you can be honest)

How did you find me and why did you decide to hire me as your wedding photographer?

Friends of ours had photos of their children taken by you. They recommended you, so we got in touch.

how would you describe your experience of working with me?

You're a really nice guy, friendly and great with the kids. You took on board anything we asked, but also guided us when we didn't have a clue!

What were your hesitations when it came to photography?

I wanted good photos at a good price. I know people that spent a lot and were unhappy with the end result. I, on the other hand, was delighted.

What was awesome?

You captured the mood of the day, it was important to me and Gav that we had the ceremony at church and was appropriately respectful. The rest of the day was about having fun with our family and friends. The photos tell the story perfectly.

Was there anything that was not so awesome?

Nope.

Would you recommend me to others and what would you say to someone who is thinking of working with me?

I do recommend you! Anyone that picks you won't be disappointed. I'm so glad we chose you.

Wow! Thank you so Much for the amazing feedback Laura. I think you and Gav have given our readers a real insight here! you are awesome, your family and friends are awesome and I will remember your wedding day fun, for the rest of my days xxx
