Lucy, Sam and Rolo
An adventure in Dartmoor. A beautiful adventurous couple and their stunning Dalmatian Pup, Rolo. I typically forgot my wellies (as I usually do) We walked, talked, threw sticks and got really, really muddy.
Sam impressed me with his ability to plan large events (which would stress me to no end) and Lucy inspired me with her mindfulness and how in tune with herself and the earth she always seems to be. Both made me smile a ton! with their super infectious smiles.
We later met again so that Lucy and Sam (and Rolo of course) could see their prints. The Images below are of the prints that Lucy and Sam chose to keep in their lives for ever and more. Again, I feel so happy knowing that I have created something meaningful that will outlive myself.
Oh and of course. The all important questions that I asked Lucy when she first got in touch are below the images...
Lucy & Sam
and we have been together for the past ...
This is the story of how we met...
We met at an inter-university surf event. He didn't go to university and I didn't surf.. So quite an unlikely meeting. Needless to say, he now goes to uni, and of course, I surf!
This is our proposal story...
Upon returning from a long naval deployment, we knew we could survive anything. Sam secretly went to my parents house to ask permission to ask me to marry him. One month later (with everyone bursting at the seams with the secret!) he took me to my favourite beach in North Devon - barricane beach - middle of winter so no one was around, and he simply got on one knee and asked if I would spend the rest of my life with him. I should add I asked 'are you joking?' Before saying, of course I will!
How do you take your tea?
We don't really drink tea. Is that a crime?
our favourite food is: Homemade pizza or simple Italian pastas. We are easily pleased!
our favourite place to spend time together is: Dartmoor with our Dalmatian. Wembury. Woolacombe. Barricane. There are a number!
Here is a little list of some of the things we love: We love spending time outdoors (and indoors snuggling) our Dalmatian puppy.
Surfing, and getting in the sea.
We really love food!
Spending time with both our families - it's always a giggle!
Jess and Cass had a fun, festival style wedding on a Devon cliff top in woolacombe. Sunny weather, live music, sack races, bubble fights, a vw camper, hay bales, "you've got a friend in me" for the first dance, good food, crazy dancefloor shapes and a groom in shorts (all of this is the way forward)
What an absolutely lovely family focused wedding Zoe and Pauls wedding at The Lord Haldon Hotel in Devon was. Some of my very favourite moments can be found in this post, Including Big smiles, funny “applying makeup” faces, an emotional father's reaction, interesting ways of keeping "the areas" cool on a hot wedding day morning, children being children, big hugs, a moment alone with Zoe and Paul featuring armpit tickles and light rain, more big hugs, more big smiles and dancing. Oh and BIG HUGS. What a perfect day!
Childhood sweethearts, a ton of confetti (both outside the church and on the dance floor), An "actual" toast, a warm and loving family atmosphere, the obligatory wedding thing, where non-smokers, smoke cigars and a little trip to Thatchers Rock in a classic Mercedes. oh, and not to forget, great BBQ. What an amazing day!
If you love all things with a minimalist english country/rustic style. If you can't explain why, but you love an exposed beam as much as I do. If you are looking for a relaxed, fun and informal wedding day where you have everything you need all in one place. The The Bickley Mill Inn has a cosy indoor area, covered outdoor decking and seating area (so you don't need to worry about the weather) a lovely garden for photos (with hundreds of wild bunnies), a place to stay on the night of the wedding, lovely staff and the all important option of a great BBQ. Check out the Bickley Mill Inn, Devon.
This was such lovely, chilled and fun day featuring Lucy and Nick, Lucys dog (also called Nick) in a bow tie, a big game of rounders, pizza served from a caravan, everyone dancing with their ties around their heads and of course, The coolest wedding venue ever! Wedding Yurts.
Becca and Lee had a fun, laid back, sunny and Magical, Devon wedding at The Headland hotel in Torquay. This post has some of my favourite moments... Featuring so much fun and laughter in the morning, unique ways of trying to stay cool, youtube tutorials for pocket squares, mind blowing magic from the amazing Dan Brazier, hilarious renditions of songs from the super talented Rich Cottell a lovely sunset overlooking the bay and the biggest fricking wedding cake I've ever seen in my life! followed by Becca and Lee's story and Becca's advice to you if you are planning your wedding.
Hannah and Will had a crazy fun, beautiful and perfect wedding at Boringdon Hall, Plymouth. Featuring their adorable dog Lottie as the ring bearer, wild belly laughs, embarrassing photos revealed by the best man, games of hide and seek, a bride throwing shapes on the dance floor (dressed as a giraffe, yep, a giraffe), cake smooshing and dancing (like Beyonce) in the rain.
Congratulations to Mrs and Mrs Horn. Leah and Lorna had a beautiful Waterside Cornwall Wedding. Featuring festive pjs in June, Hilarious bridesmaids that would randomly break into dance all day, The proudest Grandad ever, A photobombing aunty, lots of tears and laughter. So much laughter!
Siobhan and Steve's wedding at the Atlantic Hotel, Newquay was nothing short of epic. When I first met this couple for an engagement session a couple of years ago, I knew that It would be an honour and a bloody great time to be their wedding photographer.
Terri and Ant had a super relaxed and fun wedding at their home away from home, their workplace. The New Continental Hotel in Plymouth.
My favourite moments include Preparation fun, Champagne spillages, a cute puppy, buttonhole dilemmas (obviously solved by youtube tutorials), Flipflops for everyone, big massive hugs, cigar smoking and powerpuff girl socks.
Lucy & Nick's WINDY St Agnes engagement session. I witnessed love and playfulness. I sniffled alot. I had a watery eye every time I held the camera to it (due to it creating a wind trap). I let the beautiful sun leak into my lense. I wouldnt change anything about this adventure! Thank you so much Lucy and Nick. See you soon for the next one!
Want life lasting memories in print and on the wall, that you can look at each day to fill your heart with warmth and fill your face with smiles? Who wouldnt? ....
