Whitsand Bay Fort Wedding - Lucy and Mark - Their wonderful, windy, wedding day. / by Jamie Webb

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of capturing the wonderful wedding of Lucy and Mark the new Mr and Mrs Hunter (I always get a bit over excited using the new titles of married couples. I don't know why, I just do)

We had a typical british summers day... wind, rain and storm warnings. But nevermind that because the wonderful thing about this couple, is that they just didn't care about the unimportant details (like the weather) what they cared about most, was celebrating their love for each other and to be able to see everyone enjoying themselves. Trust me when I say. they really did enjoy themselves!

The Whitsand Bay Fort is an absolutely amazing venue in the south east of Cornwall. Its by the beach, the views are breathtaking and the lodges are lovely. Kate and the team are super friendly and they ensured that everything ran smoothly from start to finish! even with the change of plans for the outdoor ceremony. The indoor space had plenty of room and looked amazing. We even managed to pop up to the cliff top a couple of times to get some of the windiest photos ever (I even ended up chasing after Lucy's Veil as it blew away) I am so excited to return to this venue later in the year.

One thing Lucy said to me before the wedding was that she wanted was photos of funny moments and people enjoying themselves. I feel that I definitely had this in mind when I captured the day and picked out the photos to share in this post.

Mr and Mrs Hunter, I hope these photos make you laugh! xxx

My readers know that I often ask the couple a few questions after the wedding. So far, most times it has been the bride who has answered these questions. In this case, I particularly asked Mark if he wouldnt mind being the one to contribute to this post, to reflect on his day and give me a little feedback. I thought it would be interesting hearing the Groom's point of view for a little variation...

Hi Mark,

What wedding venue did you choose and why?

Whitsand bay fort, some absolutely stunning views.

What was the Inspiration behind your wedding?

Keep it chilled and stress free.

What are your favourite memories/moments that you think of when you remember your day?

after the ceremony dragging all the guest up to the cliff for photos was pretty funny.

What advice would you like to give to couples about planning the day and any advice about the day itself?

Don't stress and try and enjoy your day.

What special details did you include in your wedding?

The sweet table was pretty cool and the flip flops for guest was a good idea.

What resources did you use to find the perfect vendors and suppliers?

Facebook

I love food and music! Let's talk about food and music.

Can't go wrong with a good old BBQ and the music I had no choice in, the wife took charge of that hahaa.

Why on earth did you choose Webb Family Photography as your wedding photographer?

Like that the photos were natural and how relaxed Jaimie was about taking photos.

How would you describe your experience of working with me?

Chilled and relaxed and I think Jamie had a good time too.

I really did have a good time! The constant smile on my face all day probably gave that away, ha ha.

What were your hesitations when it came to photography? What did you feel unsure about, what were you anxious of and what questions did you need answered?

Making it look natural, me and Lucy are the most awkward people in photos ever and Jamie has managed to make us look good, so top job.

Would you recommend me to others and what would you say to someone who is thinking of working with me?

Yeah, he's chilled and relaxed.

I love your short, sweet and straight to the point answers here Mark. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions and offering your point of view to all of the grooms out there.

If you are getting married and you love how Laid back, natural and fun these photos are, then I would love for us to talk about your wedding photography. Send me a message and let's have a nice cuppa?
